releaseNotes: |
In this update, I focused on restoring the app's state more reliably!
It also improves agentic workflows with note templates.

  ## Reopen all your windows where you left off

Previously, Inkdrop only remembered the size and position of the main window.
Now, every window that's open when you quit comes back on the next launch, including the separate windows for a single note.
  Each window restores its own:

  - Position and size, including maximized and full-screen states
  - Note, along with its scroll position and cursor
  - View mode (edit, preview, or side-by-side)
  - Sidebar visibility and distraction-free mode

Since each window keeps its own view mode and sidebar state, hiding the sidebar in one window no longer affects the others.

  ## Sidebar items now remember your last note

When you switch notebooks, tags, or statuses in the sidebar, the note list used to open its first note every time.
Now, it opens the note you last viewed in that list, so switching between sidebar items feels like switching tabs.

  - It also works for All Notes, Trash, workspaces, and jumping to a notebook or tag from the command palette
  - If that note has been moved out of the list or deleted, the first note opens as before
  - The remembered notes are kept until you quit the app

  ## Wide tables break out of the readable column in the preview

  ![unwrap tables on preview](https://site-cdn.inkdrop.app/release-notes/v6.3.0-unwrap_tables_preview.png)

With "**Readable line length**" enabled, the preview is limited to a narrow column, so wide tables got squashed and their cells wrapped.
Now, wide tables in the preview extend beyond the column, up to the width of the pane, and stay centered.
The text around them stays in the readable column.
A table wider than the pane scrolls horizontally.

This matches how the editor keeps tables unwrapped in the "**Prose Only**" and "**Unwrap at Cursor**" line wrapping modes, added in v6.2.0.

  ## Copy inline code in the preview

  ![inline code copy button](https://site-cdn.inkdrop.app/release-notes/v6.3.0-inline-code-copy-button.png)

Hover over inline code in the preview, and a copy button appears next to it, just like the one for code blocks ([Requested on the forum](https://forum.inkdrop.app/t/copy-inline-code/5604)).
It doesn't appear for inline code inside links, so clicking the link still works.

  ## Note templates for AI agents

The local HTTP server has a new `GET /templates` endpoint, so AI agents can find your note templates and fill them out.
It lists your custom templates first, then the official ones, and supports searching by title with the same fuzzy matching as the app.
[The MCP server](https://github.com/inkdropapp/mcp-server) also gets a new `list-templates` tool built on it.

For example, you can ask your agent:

  > Create a new note in the "Projects" notebook from my "Implementation plan" template, for adding dark mode to the settings page.

The agent finds the template with `list-templates`, reads its fill-out instructions and examples, and creates a new note that follows them.

To use the new tool, update the MCP server to the latest version:

  - If you followed [the setup guide](https://docs.inkdrop.app/reference/mcp-server), your config runs `npx -y @inkdropapp/mcp-server@latest`, so just restart your AI client (e.g., Claude Desktop or Claude Code) to pick up the new version
  - If your config runs `@inkdropapp/mcp-server` without `@latest`, change it to `@inkdropapp/mcp-server@latest`, then restart the client
  - The `list-templates` tool requires Inkdrop v6.3.0 or later, since it relies on the new `GET /templates` endpoint

  ## Editor improvements

  - **Insert a table from the slash command menu**: Type `/` and pick "**Table**" to insert a Markdown table
    ![Insert a table w:50%](https://site-cdn.inkdrop.app/release-notes/v6.3.0-slash_commands-insert_table.png)
  - **Formatting with multiple cursors**: Bold, italic, inline code, strikethrough, highlight, lists, task lists, and quotes now apply to every cursor and selection, not only the main one
    - If any of the selections is already formatted, the command removes the formatting, so they never toggle in opposite directions
    - Toggling a bullet list into a numbered list (or the other way around) converts the markers, instead of nesting them like `1. *`

    https://site-cdn.inkdrop.app/release-notes/v6.3.0-multi_cursor_formatting.mp4

  - **Ordered lists stay numbered on Backspace**: When Backspace removes a number, the items below it are renumbered
    - e.g., deleting item 3 from `1. 2. 3. 4.` gives `1. 2. 3.`, and a single undo brings it back
    - On a blank line inside a list, Backspace now removes all the indentation at once, instead of one space at a time

    https://site-cdn.inkdrop.app/release-notes/v6.3.0-ordered_list_backspace.mp4

  - **Note link search matches each word**: Typing `[[foo bar` finds notes whose titles contain both `foo` and `bar` anywhere, not only the exact phrase "foo bar"
  - **Table toolbar**: The tooltip now appears at the cursor

  ## Bugfixes

  - **Note link**: "Create new note" could appear above the matching notes in the `[[` autocomplete (e.g., `[[Mermaid css`). It now always stays at the bottom
  - **Table toolbar**: It disappeared when the table was scrolled horizontally, and jumped when the line wrapping mode was "**Unwrap at Cursor**"
  - **Highlight**: Toggling a highlight inside highlighted text nested another `<mark>` tag instead of removing it
  - **Revision history**: Pressing Esc right after opening the dialog didn't close it
  - **Navigation**: Going back didn't scroll the note list to the reopened note
  - **Database** (Windows): Cleaning up the index files from before v6.2.0 failed with an `EBUSY` error on every launch, leaving them on disk. They are now removed, and the app no longer waits for this cleanup on startup
  - **Updates**: When a corporate proxy or web filter blocked the update check, the error message showed the whole web page returned by the filter. It now explains that the check was blocked

  ## For plugin developers

  - **Wide blocks in the preview**: Add the `mde-preview-unwrap` class to the element your code block component renders, and it can grow beyond the readable column like tables do
    - The element needs an intrinsic width (e.g., `width: max-content`). An element that sizes itself to its container won't widen
    - The class is documented as `MDEPreviewUnwrapClassName` in `@inkdropapp/types`
  - **Renamed command option**: The `selectFirstNote` option of the `core:note-list-show-*` commands is renamed to `autoOpenNote`, as it now opens the last viewed note
    - `core:open-first-note` still opens the first note
  - **Local HTTP server**: `POST /notes` returns 403 for official template IDs, matching `POST /note:{id}`

  ## Faster Mermaid diagrams with Pele

  ![pele rendering engine](https://site-cdn.inkdrop.app/release-notes/v6.3.0-mermaid_pele.png)

[The Mermaid plugin v4.0.0](https://github.com/inkdropapp/mermaid/releases/tag/v4.0.0) draws your diagrams with [Pele](https://pele.run/) instead of Mermaid.
You keep writing Mermaid syntax as before, but diagrams render faster, and the plugin got much smaller: its diagram code went from 5.16 MB to 705 kB.

  - **Zoom and pan**: Zoom with <kbd>Command</kbd>/<kbd>Ctrl</kbd> + scroll or pinch, and drag to pan while zoomed. In the preview, only diagrams shrunk to fit are zoomable; full screen zooms any diagram
  - **Better full screen**: The diagram fits the window both horizontally and vertically, and keeps your zoom when the window resizes
  - **Math in labels**: `$$...$$` in labels is typeset with KaTeX
  - **Note links**: `inkdrop://` note links work in diagrams
  - **Errors in place**: While you edit, syntax errors show over the last good drawing, instead of replacing it

Layout and styling differ somewhat from Mermaid's, so some diagrams may look a little different.
Also, text can't be selected while zoomed in.
